$30.00

This collection of cards, celebrating Christmas and Valentine’s Day, was created by the artist Thor Rinden (b. 1937) over the course of more than 45 years. Rinden, an Iowa-born and Brooklyn-based painter and poet, each year sent these original artworks to his wife Jane, and to an expanding list of devoted friends. Woodblock prints, acrylic paintings, and collages, the works highlight the humor, inventiveness, and originality of this artist whose reputation has grown steadily since his death in 2009. Rinden’s paintings are now currently held by museums around the country, including the Smith College Museum, the state museums of Arkansas and Oklahoma, the Stanley Museum in Iowa, the Fisher Museum in LA, and many others.
