Musings 2025: Burning Down the House
The darkness and disgrace of Donald Trump — for so many years the target of author Denis O’Neill’s musings — has been brightened by the results of the 2026 midterms elections… a massive repudiation of Trump and his surrogates. Happy days may not be here again, but better days seem likely, and O’Neill plans to be there to chronicle this brave new world.
This is the fifth book of Musings from Denis O’Neill, son of author, historian and political activist Charles O’Neill. They were originally posted on Facebook. O’Neill is the author of two thrillers, The River Wild and Canis Dirus; Jim & I — Stories of Fishing & Friendship; and a Dartmouth College memoir, WHIPLASH: When the Vietnam War Rolled a Hand Grenade into the Animal House. He also wrote the original screenplays, The River Wild, starring Meryl Streep, and A Shot at Glory, starring Robert Duvall. He has three sons and lives in Santa Barbara.
